MANILA — “Make It With You” made it as the No. 1 TV program in its time slot as it debuted Monday, drawing nearly double the viewership of its rival show, according to Kantar Media.

The pilot of the ABS-CBN series registered a national TV rating of 27.4%, while its competing program, GMA-7’s “The Gift,” drew a distant 14.8% on January 13.

The debut ratings of “Make It With You” made it the overall second-ranked TV program for the day, just behind perennial No. 1 “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” with 29.9%.

“Make It With You” sees the primetime comeback of real-life couple Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil.

Set in Croatia, its maiden telecast introduced lead characters Billy (Soberano) and Gabo (Gil), Filipinos whose lives intersect in the European country.

The mysterious Gabo, an illegal immigrant in Croatia, is forced to live in the streets of Dubrovnik and make ends meet, after his caravan gets intercepted by authorities.

Billy, meanwhile, appears to have a more established life there, as she is shown juggling dates professionally. On top of her work with the dating service, she attempts to swindle her matches to take home more than her salary.
