MANILA -- Angelica Panganiban has had enough “negativity” from followers concerning her relationship with former boyfriend and “Playhouse” co-star Carlo Aquino, prompting a rant on Wednesday where she said she would distance herself from the actor.

On Instagram, Panganiban posted a screenshot of one follower’s comment accusing her of being childish and which questioned the sincerity of her friendship with Aquino, whom she has supposedly made vulnerable to judgment.

The comment from the account, which has since apparently been deactivated, read: “Palagi kang ganyan. Aware ka ba sa impact na nagagawa niyan kay Carlo? Palagi siya ang dehado kakaganyan mo. Sarili mong fans binabash at hinuhusgahan siya nang walang ebidensya.

“Grow up Angge. Pag-usapan niyo ‘yan ni Carlo. ‘Wag mong idaan sa social media lahat. Minsan nakakaduda rin if gaano ka ka-genuine mag-care for Carlo. Kung ano ang kinadaldal mo, kinatahimik niya. Jusko para kayong 13, 14 ulit. Hoy, 33, 34 na kayo. Act your age.”

The follower was reacting to Panganiban’s earlier Instagram post on Wednesday, showing her latest styling and makeup for a project. The photo was initially captioned, “Love your own na lang talaga ‘ko.”

Tagging the account behind the comment, Panganiban later changed the caption to: “Don’t love yourself. Never. Okay na po?”

Panganiban, who is known for her frankness and no-filter remarks in interviews, then responded to the follower who censured her for supposedly harming Aquino’s reputation.

The actress wrote, unedited: “Wow. Sa lahat ng na offend ko. Sorry. Hindi ko alam na may issue pala kayo sakin. From now on, hindi na ko magsasalita. Huling caption ko na po ito. Kasi nakakahiya sa inyong mga nasaktan ko.

“Tama ka. Madaldal ako. So tatahimik na ko. I will act my age po. Sorry po. Hindi na kayo makakarinig ng kahit na ano sakin regarding Carlo. Lalayuan ko na din para hindi na lang ako mahusgahan at hindi na po siya mahirapan sa sinasabi niyong ‘impact’ na ginagawa ko para madehado po siya.

“Happy po? Thank you. Sana po maintindihan niyo at mapatawad niyo ko. Pagod na din ako sa kanegahan at pakekelam ninyo. Nasaktan na din ako. So tama na.”

Panganiban subsequently took to Twitter to address, in general, followers whose negativity supposedly ruined her relationship with Aquino.

“Maayos naman samahan namin. Sinira niyo lang. Sana masaya na kayo,” she wrote. “Sana din matuwa idol niyo sa pagiwas ko sa kanya at malagay siya sa tahimik. Ako pala kasi sumisira sa idol ninyo. Enjoy 2019.”

As of writing, Panganiban no longer appeared to be following Aquino’s Instagram account.

Panganiban and Aquino were each other’s first official relationship when they were teenagers. They managed to become friends despite going through two breakups, and in 2018, courted a fresh following when they reunited onscreen in the romance-drama film “Exes Baggage.”

The movie, a box-office and critical success, spurred new demand from self-proclaimed “CarGel” fans for further projects featuring the former sweetheats, leading to Aquino’s additional casting in “Playhouse.”

Some fans, however, have gone further to ask the two to get back together, with their hopes bolstered by recent affectionate photos of the former couple. This, despite Panganiban and Aquino saying the are better off as friends, and the latter clarifying in September 2018 that he was not courting his ex-girlfriend anew.
