MANILA -- Life begins at 40? Coco Martin apparently thinks so as he is giving himself five more years before finally focusing on his love life -- or when he hits the Big 4-0.

"Hindi pa 'yun ang priority at iniisip ko, kasi sabi ko nga family muna and future," Martin told entertainment reporters in a recent interview.

"By 40, ako na 'yan. So five years pa, matagal pa," added Martin, who is still being romantically linked to his former leading lady Julia Montes.

The star of the long-running primetime action-drama "Ang Probinsyano" knows too well how being in love can affect one's career.

"Hindi naman bago 'yan: 16 years old nagka-girlfriend na ako, nagkadapa-dapa na ako diyan nung nasa indie ako," he said.

"'Yung love life, 'di ko sinasabi na 'di ko siya priority. Alam natin na kapag in love tayo umiikot ang buong mundo natin. Pero sa punto ng buhay ko mula nung nag-30 ako ay iba na ang priority ko."

"By 40, sigurado ako hahanapin ko 'yan," Martin said.
