Two unidentified robbers on Wednesday night attacked 84-year-old actress Anita Linda while she was on board a taxi.
The veteran actress said the robbers failed to steal her things in their hurry to leave but they were able to take the taxi driver’s bag.
"Somebody opened my door saka hinablot ako. Hindi naman ako malapit sa pinto [dahil] sa gitna ako nakaupo. Umilag ako. Binuksan pa niya ‘yong pinto pero (sinangga ko siya ng kamay ko). Nakaurong ako sa dulong dulo. Hindi siya makatagal dahil sa ang dami daming taong nandoon,” she said.
She said the other robber targeted the taxi driver and forcibly took his bag.
Linda was on her way to San Juan from her home in Alabang Hills to attend the grand press conference of ABS-CBN's upcoming television series "Tayong Dalawa" when the incident occurred.
As of posting time, it was not yet clear where the incident took place.
"First time in my life na [may nangyaring] ganyan [sa akin]. Mga naka-kamiseta lang [sila] and it happened so fast," she said.
The actress, who won her first international best actress award for the movie "Adela," was said to be still visibly shaken when she arrived in San Juan.
