MANILA – KC Concepcion apologized to her mother, veteran singer and actress Sharon Cuneta, for missing her birthday celebration on “ASAP Natin ‘To” on Sunday.

In an Instagram post, Concepcion wrote: “Happy birthday, mama. I’m sorry I couldn’t join the ASAP celebration for personal reasons.”

“We may not be perfect, but in the many ways I know how to LOVE you, I have, I do and I always will. I have done all I can to help you when I could and to make you proud knowing you had me so young. If I fail, I’m only human and I’m sorry. But I try my best,” she added.

Concepcion ended her post by sharing her wish for her mom.

“May your light shine brighter and brighter and I will see you soon. I love you and pray for your happiness always,” she said.

During her birthday celebration on “ASAP,” Cuneta turned emotional, noting how one of her children is missing.

“Pasensya na po medyo emotional ako kasi nagulat ako sa mga surprise. Kasi alam ko apat ang anak ko eh,” she said.

“Thank you Frankie, Miel and Miguel for giving importance to mama and loving me and being respectful and kind and grateful children,” she added.

Before thanking Pangilinan for staying “faithful and true,” Cuneta also mentioned that she’s always praying for her children to remain grounded.

“Ipinagdarasal ko rin lahat ng aking mga anak na sana lumaki kayo na nakatapak ang mga paa sa lupa. Huwag nakalilimot sa pagmamahal ng magulang at sa lahat ng nagawa ng mga magulang niyo sa inyo,” she said.

Cuneta, who has been in show business for more than four decades, is celebrating her actual birthday on Monday.
