MANILA - (UPDATE) A man who claims to be a former lover of celebrity-turned-government official Mocha Uson filed his certificate of candidacy for senator on Thursday.

Agi Tuana of Manila said he wants to run for senator so he can help lower the rising price of petroleum products and so he can help fight crime.

"Kailangan babaan natin ang langis, labanan 'yung crime, pati trapik," he told reporters outside the office of the Commission on Elections.

Tuana said he is currently "self-employed," managing a junk shop in Manila. He also claimed to be an ex lover of blogger Mocha Uson, whom he supposedly met at a bar when he was younger.

"Matagal na 'yun, college pa ko. Parang ano lang, one-night stand lang," he said, when asked about his supposed previous relationship with Uson.

Tuana said he will support Uson this upcoming elections.

"Susuportahan ko siya, pati si Bong Go, pati si Bato," he said.

Asked about his chances for the 2019 polls, Tuana said: Malaki ang tsansa basta suportahan niyo ako."
