MANILA—Sitting pretty in third place in the senatorial race with more than 19 million votes, it's safe to say that there's a lot of people who know just who Bong Go is. But it appears the same can't be said for his namesake in Valenzuela city.

The mysterious man's inclusion in the mayoral race has more than just a few voters scratching their heads, with even the city's official Twitter account acknowledging confusion.

The Bong Go who went against eventual runaway winner, NPC's Rex Gatchalian, is Antonio Go.

His campaign centered on his tagline "Go Serbisyo, Valenzuela, Aasenso," based on his Facebook posts. He was running under the banner of Lakas and finished second with 6,226 votes.

Changing his name in the ballot didn't help his cause much, losing to Gatchalian's 248,911 votes, representing 96% of the total votes.

This is Gatchalian's third term as mayor and he said that he'll be continuing his platform focused on education.
