MANILA — The 2024 Outstanding Filipino Retailers (OFR) Awards were held on Wednesday at a hotel in Quezon City, recognizing exceptional Philippine retailers for their growth, creativity, and adherence to best industry practices.

For over two decades, the OFR Awards have honored more than 200 retailers. Established in 1997 as a joint initiative of the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the awards have evolved to reflect the changing retail landscape.

"We refreshed the categories to encompass the most notable efforts in sustainability, technology, creativity, and ethical business practices," said PRA President Roberto Claudio Sr.

Claudio noted that the retail industry, which suffered losses during the pandemic, has fully recovered. "Post-pandemic, the retail industry is back to pre-pandemic levels, and consumers are flocking back to malls," he said.

The prestigious event celebrated excellence in the retail industry, recognizing businesses that have made significant contributions to its growth and innovation in the Philippines.

Wilcon Depot emerged as a standout, receiving three awards: the Sustainability Award (Large Category), Retail Innovation in Business Processes, and Retail Innovation in Digital Transformation.

Robinsons Magnolia was honored with the Sustainable Shopping Center award, while Gateway 2 took home the Mall Innovation plum.

Hans Sy of SM Prime Holdings was the recipient of the 2024 PRA President's Award.
