The Department of Trade and Industry has raised questions about a letter filed against Dali Everyday Grocery accusing the hard discounter of various infractions.

DTI Assistant Secretary Amanda Nograles said a consumer group filed the letter accusing Dali of arrogant staff, consumers being accused of shoplifting, and other complaints but noted the letter provided no evidence of the alleged infractions and even lacked details.

“They did not file a formal complaint…Kulang kulang ang detalye. Napagkamalang shoplifter hindi sinasabi branch. May manok sinisksikan ng yelo, wala ring branch,” she said.

She said the consumer group that sent the letter could not be contacted until recently and will be meeting with DTI later Monday.

She said the DTI has already issued a show cause to Dali last May 29 and has yet to receive a reply.

Dali Everyday Grocery has 353 branches including 82 covered by DTI for carrying basic necessities and prime commodities.
