News of CrowdTangle deprecation came with the advice for researchers of scientific or public interest subjects "with a qualified academic or non-profit institution" to apply for access to a facility called Meta Content Library.

"I wouldn't say we're deprioritizing news content from our platforms. Our publishers can still continue to use our platforms to talk about these issues. We are also partnering with media partners as third-party fact-checkers to also keep misinformation in check," Gummi said.
