MANILA -- Gasoline prices are up while diesel prices are down in the first week of March.

Oil companies announced the following price adjustments effective March 5, Tuesday:

PILIPINAS SHELL, SEAOIL (effective 6 a.m.)

Gasoline - P0.50L increase

Kerosene - P0.35/L decrease

Diesel - P0.40/L decrease

CLEANFUEL (effective 4:01 p.m.)

Gasoline - P0.50L increase

Diesel - P0.40/L decrease

DOE oil management bureau director Rodela Romero earlier said added inventory in US crude and signs of a possible ceasefire in Gaza factored in the cut of diesel and kerosene prices.

Meanwhile,  a potential extension of OPEC's supply cut to the second quarter of 2024 plus Russia's 6-month gasoline export ban are factors in the increase of gasoline prices.
