MANILA - Offices and branches of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will accept exchange of demonetized bank notes on Dec. 26, central bank Governor Nestor Espenilla Jr. said Friday.

In a statement, Espenilla said BSP Cash Departments in Manila and Quezon City, regional offices and branches will be open day after Christmas to exclusively accept exchange of demonetized bank notes under the New Design Series (NDS) into the New Generation Currency (NGC) peso bills.

Branches will be open from 8:30 am to 12:00 nn and will accept a maximum of P100,000 per transaction, the BSP said.

In October, the BSP extended until Dec. 29 the exchange of old bank notes that have been demonetized. It was originally set on June 30.
