MANILA – Trans-Asia Renewable Energy Corp. (TAREC) will be bringing an additional 54 megawatts of clean and renewable power to the grid following the completion of 27 wind towers.
TAREC said it has fully completed and commissioned all 27 wind towers of its San Lorenzo Wind Farm Project in Guimaras Island, which has been delivering power to the grid as early as October 7 this year.
The firm invested P6.5 billion into the project, which included upgrades in Guimaras’ grid connection.
It also poured in P570 million for a submarine cable connecting Guimaras with Panay.
“As a result, TAREC is currently the only wind farm under the Renewable Energy (RE) Act that is able to deliver 100 percent of its capacity to the grid without constraints,” the company said in disclosure to the stock exchange.
TAREC said it has filed an application for Certificate of FIT Endorsement (COE-FIT) with the Department of Energy.
TAREC is the renewable energy unit of Trans-Asia Oil and Development Corp.
