MANILA - Airlines advised clients who have flights to Bohol province that they are transferring their operations from the old Tagbilaran airport to the New Bohol Airport in Panglao starting Wednesday Nov. 28.

This as the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said the old airport will be officially decommissioned for commercial operations starting 6:00 pm. Tuesday.

Philippine Airlines said passengers departing from Bohol on the following PAL and PAL Express flights on November 28 and beyond should proceed directly to the New Bohol Airport in Panglao:

Travel time from the Tagbilaran City center to Panglao airport is approximately 40 minutes, but passengers are advised to allot at least an hour for this when planning their trips, PAL said.

The airline also said its ticket office at the old airport will remain open until Dec. 15 to service passengers during a three-week transition period. PAL said its check-in counters at the new airport will be able to issue tickets if necessary.

Cebu Pacific flies thrice daily between Manila and Bohol, as well as once a day to and from Cagayan de Oro and Davao. It is also set to launch daily flights between Clark and Bohol by Dec. 15.

The low-cost carrier said its flight schedule remains unchanged but advised passengers departing from and to Tagbilaran to check-in via its website or mobile app, print their boarding passes before leaving to the airport, and arrive at the new airport at least 2 hours before their flights.
