MANILA - Filipino financial technology firm PayMaya said Thursday it was named Most Innovative Company of the Year at the recently held Asia CEO Awards.
The award is given to companies that innovate to grow their organization and the development of the industry, PayMaya said in a statement.
The company was recognized for its drive to spread financial inclusion in the Philippines, PayMaya said. It was also a finalist for the Technology Company of the Year category.
“Innovation is at the heart of everything that we do at PayMaya. We are honored by this recognition as we continue to build relevant technologies that can make the lives of Filipinos better,” said PayMaya CEO Orlando Vea.

PayMaya is the company behind the PayMaya e-wallet and the PayMaya Enterprise. Its e-wallet offers money transfer, bills payment and QR code payments, among others.
PayMaya is the financial technology arm of Voyager Innovations, which is backed by PLDT Inc, KKR, Tencent, World Bank's IFC and the IFC Emerging Asia Fund.
The Asia CEO Awards is one of the largest business awards event in the Asia Pacific region, PayMaya said.
