MANILA - Benguet Corp said Thursday its president and chief executive officer, Benjamin Philip Romualdez, has resigned due to health reasons.

Romualdez had been on leave since January 2014, which was extended until his early retirement. He also stepped down as director and vice chairman of the company's board, the mining firm told the stock exchange.
