The boss of cement manufacturer Cemex has worn several hats before settling into his current role.

Before becoming the president and CEO of Cemex, Ignacio Mijares worked as a consultant, an investment banker and in a venture capital firm.

He said he learned a lot moving from one industry to another and these learnings now help him helm the company.

For Mijares, a boss is someone who provides clarity about the objectives of his team, and supports them so they can accomplish this objective.

"In a nutshell, it's defining the outcome or the objective, and serving your team to make sure they have everything they need," Mijares said.
