MANILA -- The planned terminal reassignments at Manila airport under a "rationalization" program will not push through in August due to "unforeseen operational constraints," authorities said Monday.
The Manila International Airport Authority said it sought permission from a congressional committee to defer the Terminal Rationalization Program.
"Therefore, no transfer of airlines will occur until further notice," it said.
MIAA General Manager Ed Monreal earlier said Terminal 3 is best for international flights while Terminal 2 will be for domestic flights.
The transfer of several Philippine Airlines flights to Terminal 1 from Terminal 2 will proceed to give way to the rehabilitation of Terminal 2.
In its July 24 advisory, PAL said flights to Vancouver, Toronto and New York will use Terminal 1 effecting July 31.
