MANILA - The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas said Tuesday it would suspend fees for applications to offer electronic payment and financial services as part of a push for digital transactions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The suspension is effective for 6 months from March 8, the BSP said.

"Digital channels such as online banking facilities and electronic money platforms have enabled continued access to basic financial services and minimized the physical presence of clients at BSFI premises," the BSP said.
