MANILA - Ramon Ang on Monday said his son Jomar died last April 11.

A private service was held April 12 on Easter Sunday, the San Miguel Corp president and CEO said. Jomar Ang is CFO of his father's car dealership business, RSA Motors.

"It has been a painful experience, but we have been comforted by the expressions of love and sympathy sent to us in so many ways," Ang and his wife Tessie said in a statement.

"He was a source of great joy to us and we are truly blessed to have had his love and presence in our lives. We know in our hearts that he is in a much better place now," he added.

Ang in January requested for privacy after disclosing that his son was in the hospital. No other details were disclosed.

At RSA Motors, the younger Ang oversaw the launch of BMW cars and the inauguration of a BMW motorcycle dealership last year.

The elder Ang is a known car enthusiast and collector.
