MANILA - Google Philippines said Tuesday it donated up to $5 million worth of search ads credit that the government could use to disseminate campaigns and information about COVID-19.

State agencies can use the credits to promote campaigns when users search for COVID-19 related contents such as donations and volunteerism, said Google Philippines head of Government Affairs and Public Policy Yves Gonzalez.

For example, users who search for "how to volunteer" on Google would be redirected to the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) page with instructions on where and how to do volunteer work, he said.

Projects of the Labor, Trade, Information Technology and Socioeconomic Planning departments will be promoted in the coming weeks, Gonzalez said.
