MANILA - It's not easy when you're a company whose name is the same as the acronym for the Department of Labor.
Dole Food Company, which supplies groceries with pineapples, bananas and other fruits, was again mistaken by some netizens for DOLE, the government agency.
On Dole Philippines' Facebook page, some netizens asked about the P5,000 cash assistance that the government promised to workers affected by the work suspension imposed because of COVID-19.
Dole has yet to release a statement on the issue.
This was not the first time that Dole got confused with DOLE.
In 2017, the state-run Philippine News Agency mistakenly put the fruit company's logo on a news article, when the story was really about DOLE's guidelines for holiday pay.
