MANILA - The state investment coordinating body has approved the new configuration of a P2.8-billion common station that will connect the capital's main railways, according to a government statement on Thursday.

The LRT-1, MRT-3 and MRT-7 common station will be finished by April 2019 "assuming there will be no needless further delays," the National Economic and Development Authority said.

Lawmakers are investigating the alleged overpricing of the project, which had faced years of delay due to wrangling between mall operators SM and Ayala Land. The disputed was resolved in January.

The NEDA's Investment Coordination Committee–Cabinet Committee also approved changing the proposed funding scheme for the New Centennial Water Source-Kaliwa Dam Project and the North-South Railway Project-South Line to official development aid.

The two projects were initially under the public private partnership scheme.

The Chico River Pump Irrigation Project was also lined up for development aid. It was originally planned as state-funded.

The NEDA body also raised the threshold amount for projects to require its review and approval to P2.5 billion from P1 billion, the statement said.
