MANILA - Fruitas Holdings Inc on Thursday launched a campaign for the donation of at least 1,000 bottles of fresh buko juice daily to frontliners fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

On top of its 1,000 bottles per day commitment, Fruitas will match donations pledged by consumers through its hotline, it said in a statement.

Those interested to support the campaign should call the hotline #8COCO, the food and beverage kiosk operator said.

"We'll try to do our best to continue this everyday until the Philippines gets through the COVID-19 pandemic. We are also encouraging our customer base to contribute to this campaign - every act of generosity counts," said Fruitas Holdings president and CEO Lester Yu.

The campaign that started March 16 has been covering 10 hospitals, reaching Nueva Ecija and Tarlac, it said.

The country's biggest firms including the SM group, the Gokongwei group, San Miguel Corp, Alliance Global Inc, Ayala Corp and Jollibee Foods Corp have pledged to support the fight against the pandemic.
