MANILA -- Samsung announced on Thursday the 10th generation of its flagship S line, packing an even bigger screen and as many as three rear cameras.

The Galaxy S10, the biggest redesign in the series since the S8 in 2017, shrinks the top and bottom bezels to almost nothing, cramming the front facing camera (or cameras in case of the larger model), in a tiny cutout instead of a notch.

The result is a screen that seems to float in the hand. The QHD screen is bright, crisp and has vivid colors, proving why Samsung is the king of displays, tapped even by rivals like Apple for its panels.

The curved sides seem less pronounced compared to past S series phones, reducing distortion. The more rounded metal makes it feel almost like an iPhone XS or XS Max, save for the headphone jack at the bottom.

The "ceramic white" finish reflects light like a pearl, slightly pink and green at the same time, but the gradient effect is more understated compared to Samsung's Chinese competitors.
