MANILA - The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on Wednesday released sample images of defaced banknotes and coins to warn the public of possible fines and imprisonment. 

Under Presidential Decree No. 247, people may face a fine of up to P20,000 and imprisonment of up to 5 years for the willful defacement, mutilation, tearing, burning or destruction of banknotes and coins.
