MANILA — Employees who will report for work on April 9, 2020 should get 300 percent of their daily salary rate, the National Wages and Productivity Commission said Thursday.
The date falls on 2 regular holidays, namely Maundy Thursday and Araw ng Kagitingan or Day of Valor, the NWPC said.
"If you didn't work, you are entitled to 200 percent of your daily wage rate. If you report to work, you are entitled to 300 percent of your daily wage rate," the commission said on Facebook.
The Day of Valor honors Filipino and US soldiers who fought side by side in Bataan province during World War II.
Many Catholics do acts of penance and celebrate the traditional "washing of feet" on Maundy Thursday during Holy Week, which commemorates the death of Jesus Christ.
