MANILA -- The price of stored value Beep cards used in Metro Manila's train systems increased at the start of 2020, the Light Rail Transit Authority said Thursday.

The cost of the reloadable cards rose to P30 from P20 last Jan. 1, pursuant to the concession agreement between the Department of Transportation and AF Payments Inc, said LRTA, which operates LRT 2.

A joint venture between Metro Pacific and Ayala Corp's infrastructure arm, AF Payments operates the Beep system on the MRT 3 and LRT Lines 1 and 2.

The Beep cards were first implemented in 2015.
