The Asia’s 50 Best Bars just revealed for the very first time its list of bars ranked between 51st and 100th via a video presentation on its different social media channels.

The addition of an extended list puts the spotlight on more noteworthy establishments— Asia’s 50 Best’s way to further help out this business segment badly hit by the ongoing pandemic. “The last year has been devastating for hospitality and it is vital that we support as many businesses as possible to help their recovery, “ says Mark Samson, Content Editor for Asia’s 50 Best Bars.

The list drew a lot of excitement from Filipino netizens when it was announced the 100th spot went to the Philippines’ Buccaneers Rum & Cocktails bar, a popular joint in Poblacion, Makati.

Manila finished strong on the extended list when another Poblacion based bar, the very hip OTO, made it to number 61, followed by the Shangrila Fort’s elegant The Back Room coming on top at number 51. Both OTO and The Back Room were part of the main Asia’s 50 Best Bars list in previous years, so their move to the 51-100 list is a little heartbreaking. Nevertheless, their regular supporters agree that making it to the extended list still count them as among the region’s best.
