Will Smith flaunting his dad bod on Instagram is inspiring dads to flaunt their own

“I love this body, but I wanna FEEL better,” he admits in an IG post.

Throughout his music, TV and film career, we’ve seen Will Smith go from long and lean (“Six Degrees of Separation”), to buff and beefy (“Independence Day”). He may have been less toned at some point, but he sure would be quick to bounce back in shape in time for another movie project. He may have failed to make it in any of People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive covers, but he’s definitely on many a mom’s macho dads list.

So the Instagram world got itself in a tizzy when the Bad Boys star boldly shared—with his over 53 million followers—a photo of himself wearing only a pair of swimming shorts (not the surfer dude kind) and an open sports jacket. Proudly flaunting his dad bod, he said, “I’m gonna be real wit yall - I’m in the worst shape of my life.”

Apparently, like many of us, the stresses of the pandemic had Mr. Smith going through “countless days grazing thru the pantry.” He’s not ashamed of it, though. He’s embracing whatever shape he’s in at the moment. But he also admits he wants to be in better form.

“I love this body, but I wanna FEEL better,” he said in another Instagram post, playfully projecting his best Pussycat Dolls pose. “No more midnight muffins…this is it! Imma get in the BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE!!!!! Teaming up with @YouTube to get my health & wellness back on track. Hope it works!”

It seems Will’s body positive image has rubbed off on some of his male followers, inspiring them to post their dadbods on IG. “Hahaha! Let’s go get it! After pics due in 12 weeks!” he dared the scantily clad men, adding the hashtag #bigwilliechallenge.

The American actor also seems to be having fun getting DMs from his fans, daring him to do all sorts of kickass workout challenges. “Y’all tryna kill me with these workouts in my DMs!! I’m lucky if I make it off the elliptical today hahaha.” Everyone it seems is ready to get jiggy with it.
