Strong moms never let their guards down. They always keep moving, doing, and pushing for the best for the sake of their family and children. Moms tend to always be in control as they want to ensure that their family is happy, safe, and comfortable.

However, even if moms can juggle household chores along with work, there are still some things that are out of their control – one of them being the weather.

Many of us, not only moms, have experienced doing the laundry only to notice rain suddenly pouring outside, having no idea how to properly dry our laundry and prevent it from smelling bad.

Sunlight helps disinfect clothing, as well as enables clothes to dry properly. Damp clothing becomes an environment for germs and bacteria to thrive and multiply, which is why we need to ensure that our clothes are properly dried out under the sun.

So, what can we do when the weather is unpredictable and we need to wash our clothes? Here is how moms found a way to beat 'kulob' and germs.

Community laundry get-together

Moms, teachers, parents, and even single individuals gathered together at Tipas Elementary School Basketball Court at Barangay Palingon, Taguig City last September 10 to beat 'kulob' and germs. Participants like the elementary school teachers and staff, along with some of the residents of the community played games, won prizes, and learned tips on how to dry their laundry properly while keeping it Sundried Fresh, no matter what the weather is outside.

"The highlight of the event is definitely being able to see mothers come together to do an activity they usually do alone, but today they do it in solidarity. Wonderful things really do happen when homemakers come together, and this is ultimately a celebration of each of them and the powerful role they play not just in their own households but together in society," shares Yana Tan, Downy Brand Manager.

Downy believes that homemakers play a big role in the household, so to help support and celebrate the strong men and women that keep our household running every day, the event #SunnyAllSaDowny 'Sampayan ng Bayan' was launched.

Aside from activities around the venue and prizes given away, the participants were also entertained by special performances by Sam Concepcion, Lea Patricio, and 1DDC RITMO – a local dance group, who sang and danced with the participants.

#SunnyAllSaDowny 'Sampayan ng Bayan' is the first community event of Downy Philippines after more than two years, due to the health situation around the country. It was an exciting gathering that showed everyone that Sundried Freshness is possible and that the whole household can be protected from 'kulob' during the rainy season with Downy Antibac Kontra Kulob.

Downy chose to launch the #SunnyAllSaDowny 'Sampayan ng Bayan' at Tipas Elementary School to help support the parents, families, and teachers of the 40,000 students that study at the public school. Their goal is to ensure protection of the whole barangay by keeping all clothes within households not just clean and safe from 'kulob' and germs, but also smelling Sundried Fresh.

Teachers Ana and Mylene from Tipas Elementary School share that aside from enjoying the event, they found the new information taught to them helpful and useful.

"Masayang, masaya po kami sa event. Nag-enjoy kami at nanalo kami" shares Teacher Ann. She even encourages other moms to use Downy Kontra Kulob to keep their household's clothes from smelling especially during this rainy season.
