Megaworld Corp. and BDO Unibank will do well this year, an analyst said Monday, as he recommended shares of the two companies.

Calyum Trading Institute President and CEO Edmund Lee said Megaworld is one of their top picks for the year, noting that "a lot of things have changed since last year" when there was a slowdown on residential pick-up sales.

"We feel that with property prices still holding at today’s levels, and with Megaworld having one of the creative land bank, we think the valuations are just too cheap to ignore at today’s level," he said.

Meanwhile, BDO, the country's largest bank in terms of total assets, is "in the best position to compete and do best against the other banks," according to Lee.
