MANILA - Inflation rate further accelerated in March to 4.3 percent driven by higher prices of food, alcohol, tobacco and utilities, the Philippine Statistics Authority said Thursday.

The figure, higher compared to February's 3.8 percent, surpassed the government's and economists' projection of 4.1 and 4.2 percent, respectively.
