The 2017 FIBA 3x3 World Cup was held in France last June where the Philippines finished 11th. Kobe Paras, Kiefer Ravena, Jeron Teng, and JR Quinahan represented the country. FIBA

Manila will be hosting the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup.

Basketball's world governing body made the announcement official on Friday and the fifth edition of the tournament will take place on June 8-12 2018.

According to FIBA, Twenty men's and 20 women's teams will compete in the team event and in three individual contests (men's dunk contest including professional dunkers, women's skills contest and mixed shoot-out contest).

The 40 qualified teams have until November 30 to confirm their participation. The provisional list is as follows:

Men: Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Ecuador, Estonia, Japan, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Mongolia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines (hosts), Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia (reigning champions), Slovenia, Ukraine, Uruguay.

Women: Andorra, Argentina, Bahrain, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Netherlands, Philippines (hosts), Russia (reigning champions), Spain, Switzerland, Turkmenistan, USA, Venezuela.

More details regarding the venue of the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2018 will be announced at a later stage.
