Fencer Brennan Louie picked up the Philippines' seventh gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur Tuesday.

It was a 1-2 finish for the Filipinos in the foil finals after Louie outclassed countryman Nathaniel Perez, 15-14.

According to ABS-CBN News' Dyan Castillejo, Louie was up, 14-11, before Perez caught up to knot the score, 14-14.

In the end, Louie was able to edge his compatriot.

Both fencers needed to get past their respective Singaporean foes in the semis before setting the title joust.

Earlier, fencer Samantha Kyle Catantan of the Philippines settled for a silver after bowing to Singapore's Amita Marie Nicolette Berthier.
