Jason Pagara made quick work of his Mexican opponent, Abraham Alvarez, winning via knockout in the third round of their welterweight showdown in the co-main event of Pinoy Pride 37: Fists of the Future.

In front of a predominantly Filipino crowd at the San Mateo Events Center in San Mateo, California on Saturday (Sunday morning in Manila), Pagara surgically broke down his opponent, attacking Alvarez's body in the first two rounds before unloading the knockout blow in the third.

Pagara feinted with his left hand before unleashing a right straight that landed flush on Alvarez's jaw, sending the Mexican to the canvas. Alvarez tried to beat the 10-count, but was clearly wobbly and off-balance, leading the referee to wave the fight off.

The time of the knockout was 55 seconds into the third round.

Pagara improved his record to 39 wins with 24 knockouts, with two losses.

Alvarez, meanwhile, dropped to 21-10-1 in his career.
