Phoenix Pulse management fined Calvin Abueva over an incident involving Ray Parks Jr.'s girlfriend on Friday.

Abueva was docked P20,000, a penalty stemming from the mercurial forward's actions toward Maika Rivera, which included an alleged masturbatory gesture and a derogatory remark.

The Phoenix star said he was merely reacting to Rivera, who Abueva alleged had bad-mouthed him.

"While we stand and support Calvin Abueva in his own right, we cannot deny the situation, that while there may have been provocation per his claims, he could have exercised more prudence and patience," Phoenix management said in a statement released on social media Saturday.

"As preventive measure, we have decided to deduct P20,000 from the salary of Mr. Abueva, which has been communicated to him and has accepted such decision."

Parks nearly rushed to the Phoenix's dugout to confront Abueva following the incident.

“I was told after the game. If I saw it happen, I'll be honest with you, I would have got thrown out the game. For real. He's lucky I didn't see it,” said Parks.

“That ain't right. Beyond the game, that's disrespectful. I wouldn't call his wife a b-word. That's messed up.”
