MANILA – Imports will be unable to showcase their skills on Day 1 of the Premier Volleyball League's Reinforced Conference due to a problem with their international transfer certificates (ITCs).

PVL head honcho Ricky Palou announced on Sunday's opening ceremonies that the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc. (LVPI) was unable to process the certificates in time.

This marks the second straight season that the league has had issues processing ITCs. In the final V-League Reinforced Conference, several imports were unable to suit up for at least a couple of games.

The development greatly disappointed some team officials, including those whose imports have been in the country since March.

At least one team submitted the required documents to the LVPI when their imports arrived last month, only for their debuts to be delayed.

Palou assured the teams that the league is doing its best to coordinate with the LVPI and hasten the process.
