MANILA, Philippines – The NLEX Road Warriors beefed up their frontcourt by adding former PBA Rookie of the Year Rabeh Al-Hussaini via a three-team trade.

The Meralco Bolts sent Al-Hussaini to Blackwater Elite in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2018 PBA Draft.

The Elite then sent Al-Hussaini to NLEX, in exchange for a 2017 second-round pick that it previously sent to the Road Warriors.

Al-Hussaini, who won Rookie of the Year in 2011 but has had an underwhelming PBA career, averaged 6.3 points and 2.1 rebounds in 13.6 minutes per game during Meralco's campaign in the 2016 PBA Philippine Cup.

However, he has not suited up for the Bolts so far in the Commissioner's Cup.

The trade reunites Al-Hussaini with Yeng Guiao, who was his first coach in the PBA when he was drafted by the Air21 Express as the second pick in 2010.
