MANILA, Philippines – University of Santo Tomas (UST) banked on Steven Anotado to turn back defending champion Ateneo de Manila University, 1-0, and reclaim the top spot in the UAAP Season 80 men's football tournament on Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Anotado found the back of the net in the 77th minute off an assist from AJ Pasion to help the Growling Tigers regain their winning form.

With 10 points, UST is level with University of the Philippines after the Fighting Maroons settled for a 1-1 draw with Far Eastern University. But the Growling Tigers took the top spot due to goal difference.

Anotado entered the game as substitute early, after Aljireh Fuchigami suffered a sprained ankle. It was his first goal since returning from a two-year absence due to a knee injury.
