In the very same way Alab Pilipinas has reinforced its mastery over opponents on the road, it has also remained red-hot in the 2017-2018 Asean Basketball League.

Utilizing a balanced offensive, the Filipinos overwhelmed home team Singapore for an 82-69 decision on Sunday at the OCBC Arena.

Renaldo Balkman scored 21 points on top of six rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one block and had four other teammates join him in double-digits to make sure the Philippines stayed as the hottest team in the league now with five wins in a row.

However, it was the Slingers who took control right from tip-off, took an advantage of as big as 10, and still had a 32-35 lead at the 4:44 mark of the second quarter.

It was at that point, however, that Balkman and Justin Brownlee joined forces for a 24-9 run bridging the second and third quarters that granted Alab a 49-41 edge.

From there, Singapore scored five straight points to creep closer only to see Ray Parks Jr. and Josh Urbiztondo pour in six points apiece in a 17-6 counter that increased the Filipino lead to 66-52 late in the third.

Both the advantage and the momentum would stay with them for the remainder of the game.

In the end, Brownlee had a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double while Urbiztondo and Parks chipped in 17 and 16 markers, respectively

Along with keeping their win run alive, this latest win also hikes the Philippines’ road record to a standout 6-1.

Now at 8-4, they are closing in on third-running Mono Vampire of Thailand who stand at 9-4.
