In a brief but meaningful ceremony attended by her family and her first collegiate coach, Kid Santos, Daquis' No. 3 jersey was raised to the rafters of the FEU Gym.

Daquis is only the third FEU athlete to have her jersey retired, after Arwind Santos (No. 19) and Johnny Abarrientos (No. 14), both basketball superstars.

In an emotional speech, Daquis remembered how she started in FEU, as a walk-on who did not know how to serve or spike or dig, but worked hard enough to make the line-up in her very first year. She went on to win the UAAP's Best Server honor in just her sophomore season, although at the time Daquis was reluctant to accept the award.
