MANILA, Philippines – After helping the TNT KaTropa notch back-to-back victories, sophomore swingman Roger Pogoy has been named the PBA Player of the Week.

Pogoy has thrived in his role as TNT's gunner off the bench, and in TNT's two-game winning streak, he has normed 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 steal.

Though only in his second year in the league, Pogoy has played like a grizzled veteran for the KaTropa and helped his team gain a share of the third spot in the PBA Philippine Cup.

He was on target against the Blackwater Elite, firing eight of his 24 points in the third period to help turn a seven-point deficit into a 65-57 advantage heading into the last canto.

TNT claimed a 92-83 win against the Elite, with Pogoy making 10 of his 14 attempts. He also added eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals in a solid all-around effort.

Four days later, the TNT gunner joined forces with teammate Troy Rosario in dismantling the Meralco Bolts, 99-81.

In that game, Pogoy fired 15 points, grabbed four rebounds, and issued an assist to help the KaTropa improve to 3-2.

Pogoy beat his teammates Rosario, Jayson Castro, and RR Garcia, as well as Kia's Rashawn McCarthy and Glenn Khobuntin, Magnolia's Rafi Reavis, Alaska's Vic Manuel and Sonny Thoss, San Miguel's June Mar Fajardo and Arwind Santos, and GlobalPort's Sean Anthony for the weekly nod.
