MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) filed multiple complaints against another four vloggers accused of spreading fake news that allegedly undermines public trust in the government.

According to Senior Agent Raymond Macorol of the NBI-Criminal Investigation Division (NBI-CRID), the individuals circulated a manipulated video that misrepresented the statements of government officials.

The tampered clip reportedly misled viewers into believing that Santiago was targeting all OFWs, sparking online outrage and calls for halting remittance transfers.

The NBI has traced the vloggers’ locations to Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Pampanga.

The agency is coordinating with international and local authorities to pursue legal action, including possible arrests.

The charges include violations of the Anti-Alias Law, Unlawful Use of Means of Publication, and Inciting to Sedition.

The NBI is also gathering further evidence against other individuals allegedly involved in the spread of disinformation.

Macorol reminded the public that sharing such manipulated videos can have legal consequences.

The NBI urges the public to be cautious and verify information before sharing it online, especially during times of heightened sensitivity around government policies and national issues.
