ILOCOS SUR - Local authorities are intensifying its campaign against the use of prohibited firecrackers, including the 'boga,' to welcome the New Year.

In Sta. Catalina town, two pieces of boga made from milk cans, about 7-feet long and 6-inches in diameter, were confiscated in Barangay Cabaroan on Wednesday night.

Catalina Chief of Police, Senior Inspector Nilo Racoma.

On the night of Christmas, two other improvised boga were also seized, this time in Barangay Cabuloan.
