MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed whistleblower Sandra Cam as a member of the board of directors of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

Cam, who was among those who took their oath before Duterte on Wednesday, said her appointment to the state charity arm was not the President’s way of paying her back for her strong support.

“I don’t think so. The President had given me the trust. I’ve been working so hard to help the less fortunate and the OFWs. This is not a political position,” she said.

“Makikita niyo, give me at least three months, I will prove to those detractors they are wrong.”

Aside from Cam, Duterte also tapped taxi operator Bong Suntay as member of the PCSO board of directors.
