Authorities on Thursday apprehended almost 1,000 Chinese workers who may be working in the Philippines illegally.

A team composed of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Special Action Force (SAF) and the Bureau of Immigration (BI) found the Chinese workers at an online gaming office in the Information Technology Park in Clark, Pampanga, according to a report by ABS-CBN reporter Henry Omaga-Diaz.

When the team entered the office, three of the workers jumped from the second floor, according to police.

"Fractured yung kanilang mga ankle, yung mga sakong nila so hindi kasi maikilos ng maganda," said SAF's SPO1 Edison Zambrano.

The BI's Atty. Jose Carlitos Licas said many of the workers have no proper documents but they will still have to check their immigration status.

"If they have violated Philippine immigration laws rules and regulation, they will be charged accordingly and the board of commissioners will deliberate...whether they will be deported or not," he said.
