DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines — Vice-President Leni Robredo said on Saturday that she was referring to the electoral protest filed by former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. when she joked at a recent university forum that there are "vice presidents who can't be removed by the Supreme Court."

"Hugot dahil sa recent decision ng Supreme Court. Noong nag-decide 'yung Supreme Court in favor of paglibing, marami tayong supporters na nag-aalala na baka precursor 'yun doon sa decision sa kaso ko," Robredo said, referring to the high court's ruling approving the burial of former President Ferdinand Marcos.

(When the Supreme Court decided in favor the burial, many of our supporters were worried that it may be a precursor to the decision it plans to make regarding the electoral protest.)

Robredo said she is hopeful that the high court will be "unbiased" in dealing with the case filed by Marcos.

"It can go both ways, 'di ba? Sana maging unbiased. Sana desisyunan yung kaso according to the merits," she said.

(I hope the decision will be unbiased. I hope a decision on the case is made according to the merits.)

Marcos lost to Robredo in the vice-presidential race by 263,000 votes.
