A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental Wednesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

In an earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs said the quake, of tectonic origin, struck at 3:23 p.m., some 36 kilometers northeast of Don Marcelino town.
