President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday teased Vice President Leni Robredo about her relationship status, while also implying he was a viable option for the widow.

Duterte, who is in Tacloban with Robredo for the third anniversary of Typhoon Yolanda, said he'd still have a reason to go to Leyte even without the housing projects.

"Sa bagay pupunta [pa] rin ako dito dahil nandito si vice president.
Kung san siya nagpunta, magpasunod-sunod ako," he said, drawing cheers from the crowd.

[I would still go here because the vice president is here. Wherever she goes, I'll follow.]

The President also teased her about being a widow, while saying he himself is annulled.

"Biyuda kasi, annuled ako sa asawa ko pero may anak pero basta masuportahan lang okay na," said Duterte in jest.

He also cited an instance when Robredo supposedly wore a short skirt and caught his attention during a Cabinet meeting.

Duterte is annulled but is in a relationship with Honeylet Avanceña, with whom he has a daughter, 12-year-old Veronica Duterte.
